Canvas ... by Lynn Good

Hi everyone, well it is the last day of April and the colder weather is going to set in here in Tasmania - which I love - more crafting time and less outdoor gardening!!!

Today I have created a canvas for you.  This depicts a heart closed in, embraced  and restrained by elements.  I have used my favourite colour - purple and green as an earth tone.

I started by placing selected items onto the canvas panel.  I have used assorted buttons, metal pieces, flowers, art stones, mini art stones, Prima Resin heart, Prima Diamond Stones, cardboard and Memory Maze Chipboard pieces.  I have shown the chipboard pieces used below with a link to the store.

I adhered them with 3D Matte gel.  Once dried I gave everything a coat of black gesso.  I didnt placed the Prima Diamond Stones onto the piece until last.

Once the two coats of black gesso were dry, I coloured some white Prima wire with Dylusions Spray Ink - black marble and wrapped it around the canvas panel.

I began with my colours.  I have used the following colours:

Prima Mica Powder - Lilac Opal Magic, Green and Gold.
Prima Acrylic Paint Sparks - Dragons Eye, Iris Potion and Raven Black.
Dylusions Spray Ink - Black Marble
White Gesso
Art Alchemy Metallique Wax - Vintage Gold

I just kept layering the colours, drying in between and layering some more until I was happy with the result.

I have then sprayed the canvas panel in areas where I wanted to sprinkle glitter with a spray fixitive and added Finnabair glitter.

Here are some close ups:

I painted the chipboard pieces with the same lovely metallic paint as the background and included a little black here and there to match the black circles.

Sun Surf and Sand- By Leanne Nankervis

Hi Everyone!
Leanne back to share another project with you today using Memory Maze
Chipboard products.

Sun Surf and Sand
Sharing another beach layout with you today, of my daughters Holly and Alannah. We had a little day trip over the summer holidays to Sorrento, a lovely little spot for a picnic and swimming and a little beach cricket. The girls took a little stroll out on the pier, so I snapped this casual photo of them.

I used the Memory Maze Spots and Dots stencil in the background, with some art ingredient micro and glass beads, I also used some of the chipboard fish from the Mermaid Miniature chipboard set.

I've used the Sun Surf and Sand Title for my page which I used several different colours of embossing powders.

I embellished the corner of my photo with some collectables, glass beads, muslin and some flowers.
Along with my Memory Maze title and some of the starfish from the Mermaid miniature chippy pack.

Sally here for my post titled FAMILY TIMES

Sally here for my post, titled FAMILY TIMES for Memorymaze laser cuts.

Have you ever sat down designed away , happy with what you saw , walk away and come back and wonder what in blazes you thought you were doing.
Was obviously trying too hard, had to change backgrounds mid stream and it just wasn't working.

I was working with one of the Memory maze printer tray frames and love the finished product, all finished and I ditched through the  background for a plain black. Happy as.

Make a Wish for Memory Maze Design by Suzanne Franin

Hi Suzanne here to share my latest canvas

I had lots of fun doing this one
I love layers and texture and getting messy

I found this image online and I loved the water colour affect it has

I love these feathers but have another idea for them and didn't want to wasted the little bits from the centres
I gessoed the canvas and added some muslin over it to add some layers then stuck the centres  randomly over the canvas making sure to leave room for the image
I love all things rusty so I used a product called rusty paper on the canvas blending it in around the image  then added some brown paint to give more depth to the texture

I used some Sweet Treats Tiffany Lou's Magicals on the background to give it a bit of a  patina look

I also used the Sweet Treats Magicals on the letters and other embellishments I love all the colours one sprinkle can give

Here are the products I used

I used three different alphabet sets to do my title

I used the @ symbol cut down for the a from this set

Thanks for stopping by I hope you will be back soon xx
